So its late at night...

So its late at night and I know I need to go to bed, but I'm not that tired yet. I went to the SCWW meetings and my friend Alex nagged me about bringing some of my writing in again. (He wasn't there the last time that I read.) I just don't have anything that is ready yet.

My problem isn't that I'm not writing. It is that all that I've written in the last year is unedited slush. In theory, I ought to be able to fix this by editing. After all, I have a 50,000+ word novel completed. Plus, I wrote 10,000 words of a Nocturne Bite plus various and sundry other little things, but none of that stuff is ready to be viewed by human eyes other than mine. My 10K Bite is being completely re-written from scratch. (I just crossed 1000 words in that re-write by the way.) I feel like whining.... I'm not that good of a writer. I'm ashamed of my fiction...Etc, etc, etc....

I've got to get over this!!

I may take the first part of my re-written Bite next time. It is coming along well and I'm trying to edit as I go so it might be OK. We'll see.

I'm there with you girl. I have piles of stuff I've written and even rewritten but I still feel like I've got a few good beginnings but nothing really substantial. We'll have to wade through the slush together.

No editing as you go. You know better. Send that evil inner editor to the closet until you pound out the first draft.

Good luck!!
